Ryan McGinley - Moonmilk

Ein neues Buch von Ryan McGinley ist gerade erschienen – in der zweiten Auflage, nachdem die erste innerhalb kürzester Zeit ausverkauft war.

"Over the past year, Ryan McGinley and his crew explored huge underground caves, venturing into unknown territory and seeking out spectacular natural spaces - some previously undocumented.
The title, “Moonmilk”, alludes to the crystalline deposits found on the walls of many caves; it was once believed that this substance was formed by light from celestial bodies passing through rock into darkened worlds below."



Das Buch kostet 25 Pfund und kann bei Mörel Books vorbestellt werden. Die Auflage ist auf 1000 Stück limitiert.

Elinor Carucci - Ausstellung "Intimacy"

Eine Auswahl aus Elinor Caruccis neue Arbeit "My Children" wird in "dienacht" #7 gezeigt (es dauert noch ein bisschen, bis sie erscheint, aber hiermit schon ein kleiner Vorgeschmack).

In einer großen Ausstellung stellt sie aber in London aus. Aus dem Pressetext:
"Carucciʼs close range photography engages with the sometimes overwhelming fascination present in the simplest of everyday family relationships. In her highly acclaimed series Closer, Carucciʼs photographic gaze captured fleeting impressions of intimacy, including the trusting closeness of seeing her mother in the bath, the artist resting on the sofa with her father, or her parents reclining in bed, as well as extreme close-up physical observation of a kiss on the cheek, holding her husbandʼs sutured hand, plucknipple, or even the chipped nail varnish on the artistʼs own toes."

Neue Artzines von Alexander Egger

Alexander Egger ist schon immer mein Lieblingszinemacher. Letztens ist mir aufgefallen, dass sich seine Stilwandlung besonders in seinen Zines wiederspielgelt. Die ersten, die ich hatte, waren sehr anders – das ist keine Bewertung, ich finde sowohl die alten als auch die neuen genial.
Die ohnehin limitierte Auflage von 100 Stück (viele Zines sind bereits komplett vergriffen) wurde nochmal auf 50 Exemplare/Zine heruntergesetzt. Auch seine neuen Zines gibt es jetzt im "dienacht"-Shop, und hier eine kleine Übersicht.
